Who is Harold?
This is the video I co-produced and edited with UrbanPromise International for their child sponsorship program. Harold is an amazing kid and there are many more like him in Malawi.
Kinetic Typography
Kinetic typography for music videos is really fascinating. It brings music to a new level of meaning for me since I’m such a visual person. I first noticed it in this Lecrae “Don’t Waste Your Life” video and then today with R.E.M.’s “Oh My Heart.” My favorite is Trip Lee’s “To Live is Christ.”

Current song obsession
My current television obsession, other than House, is Big Love. At the end of a recent episode, this Florence + The Machine song “Cosmic Love” played during the ending credits. I can’t stop listening to it!
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I’m always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
And in the dark, I can hear your heartbeat
I tried to find the sound
But then, it stopped, and I was in the darkness,
So darkness I became
The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out
You left me in the dark
No dawn, no day, I’m always in this twilight
In the shadow of your heart
I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map
And knew that somehow I could find my way back
Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too
So I stayed in the darkness with you
My life be like…
I’ve been on sabbatical for two months. The first month was a lot of rest, reading and the watching of House marathons. The second month I’ve expanded my activities to puppy sitting, job searching, and the watching of House marathons (really obsessed with this show now).
I’ve also been involved in a few projects.
1. Working with UrbanPromise in editing and producing video for their Who is Harold? child sponsorship campaign.
2. Consulting with child advocate non-profit organization Tjeko.
3. Studying for a Master of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Studies with fun classes like Organizational Behavior and Analysis and Group and Team Dynamics.
As I enter month three I think “sabbatical” will officially transition to “being unemployed.” Even though I don’t have a job, my needs have been supplied and I’m super thankful for this. It’s definitely a weird season in my life, but I’m trying to make this time count.
