Today, the internet black-out day, someone on my twitter feed was engaging in the hashtag thing about fake wikipedia. Point is, one of his “hilarious” tweets was that “ABC just announced a seventh season of LOST for Fall 2012.” I seriously almost cried. That’s not even remotely funny.

Yes, there are a lot of Aussie-isms that seem like cliches…but they do get used. As a new arrival here, the one that gets me is reckon. Where I am, you don’t hear it as you bet or absolutely, but more as ‘think’ as in “what do you reckon…?”. The other one is “She’ll be right”, which can mean “it will be OK” , “it will happen” “no problem”…just about anything you want it to mean!

Holiness of the Heart

Yes
There is a holiness to the heart’s affections

A recognition of the divine
An acknowledgment of the spirit of creation
A healthy respect for the holy union of two souls captured
With a mutual affection and bound
Without self consciousness to express
